First of all, I need to write on a more regular basis. That is why for the next 40 days (Lent) I am going to write something everyday. I need to get over my fear of failure. Sometimes I will fail. Sometimes I will write poems that completely suck. But if I keep working through it, I will start writing more good poetry than bad.
Second, I need to let go of conventions. It's like that scene in Fight Club where he is driving the car, and he let's go of the wheel to prove that, really, he doesn't have control; that there is no control. I don't really know how to put this thought into workds; it's in the same vein as the Sublime, therefore relatively indescribable. But I feel it in my heart & gut; good poetry is written with your eyes closed. It can't be approached logically, like an essay; it's a matter of the heart.
Well, off to poetry writing class.
Wish me luck.
Devious Comments
then you can submit many things and get lots of comments and love!
I'm not sure you can handle any more love. You are quite loved already.
What am I saying? Love is like pretzles, one can never have too many pretzles!

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over here, looking through your stuff.
of course, pretzles with penutbutter....
we need to go buy pretzles.

"Life is rushing by like a mad swolen river.
One minute roses are opening inthe garden
and the next, snow is flying past my window."
~Billy Collins

to getting all mushy, to bearing the pain any way you can, to letting somebody know, to twist-tying the brain in contorted word-knots! to it all!
